Mentally Blocked?
How to Remove and Replace it!
The following question came from a Mastery of Dialogue
TeleClass I presented last year.
"I find that I struggle with talking to my prospects like there's a
block when I talk."
The "block" could be a symptom of something else that is going on. If
this happens to you, one of the causes, or reasons could be because you
may still be concentrating on what you are going to gain.
When you focus on you and what you want, you increase
your inner tension. When your tension goes up you're not relaxed… you
can't think, nor are you creatively able to move things forward, and
"Hey Presto" your block deepens! End result is that you end up serving
no one. Least of all yourself!
The answer? Let go of what you want! DETACH from what you expect to
gain from the conversation; stop thinking you have to make a
presentation to persuade the other person that you've got the perfect
answer and you're right. Put all that aside and relax.
Instead, use the Process of Discovery to allow the other person to
talk about and enlarge upon, the kind of problems and dreams they have
that you might be able to help them solve, AND their depth of commitment
to do something about it. THAT'S ALL! THEN you can introduce the idea
that you can help!
The Discovery Process replaces presenting, telling and persuading.
It's the exact opposite, and as such it will give you the exact opposite
results; no tension, no fear AND remove that block you're having!

refocus on your purpose, which is to help other people solve their
problems. Then do that by using the Discovery Process to find out how
you can help them.
Do this and you'll find the anxiety and any block disappears and
you'll get what you want by helping others get what they want.
